Diet and Exercise Can Help You Lose Weight

There are many different reasons people have for dieting.  Some people in response to a medical condition, others to be generally more fit,but perhaps the most common motivation for dieting is to lose weight.  Whether it is to lose the last 5 pounds before beach season or considerably more weight and a total body makeover many people look to a proper diet plan to lose weight.

While a proper diet is essential for achieving weight loss goals it is only one piece of the solution.  In order to effectively cut weight and burn body fat a proper diet plan must also be paired with physical activity and exercise.  Diet and exercise have shown

Exercise is important and should be an integral part of your daily life. Physical exercise cannot only help you achieve weight loss goals but will also improve your overall fitness level including cardiovascular health.

Food and fat stores fuel your body throughout the day.  So the more you exert yourself the more fuel your body needs. If you use more energy than you consume your body will be forced to burn fat stores and you will lose weight. This formula is the basis for losing weight, burn more calories than you consume.  By starting an exercise plan you will force your body to burn more calories throughout the day promoting weight loss.

If you are the type of person that hates to exercise you can still achieve your weight loss.  While exercise and physical activity are ideal you can lose weight just be dieting but you must be careful not to over eat. Even if you hate exercise you should still try and find ways to increase your physical activity level when attempting to lose weight.  Even a daily 20 minute walk can provide benefits and is a good foundation for continuing physical fitness.
