LOSE WEIGHT FAST!!! Drop 30 POUNDS in 30 DAYS!!!

You probably have seen the above headlines online or on TV or likely both.  Miracle diet supplements are often marketed with the promise of faster and more weight loss with little side effects.  Often these products are offered as a quick alternative to the sometimes difficult task of long term dieting and healthy eating.  While the effectiveness of these products is often questioned some may also be potentially dangerous.  It is important that you educate yourself of the contents and potential side effects of any weight loss or diet aids you are considering and speak with your medical adviser.

Before you order some diet in a bottle product there are several risk factors you should consider:

Current Medication- Diet supplements may be harmless when taken alone but depending on the medications or diet aids you are already ingesting you can risk complications.  Many otherwise harmless substances can become toxic when combined with other specific compounds. This is why it is important to consult a health care professional before combining medicines or diet aids.

Blood Thinner- One class of medications that have been known to combine with certain diet supplements are blood thinners.  These medications are designed to prevent clotting however when combined with diet supplements such as gingko baloba can cause excessive bleeding.

Drugs and Alcohol- If you are a frequent user of illicit drugs and alcohol you should be careful of the diet supplements you try. Drugs and alcohol can cause health complications that can be increased when combined with certain diet supplements. There is also a chance that the use of drugs or alcohol can negate the effects of diet aids.

Pregnancy- During pregnancy food and supplements ingested by the mother are passed onto the developing fetus.  If you are pregnant you should be very careful of diet supplements you are taking as substances you are taking can have negative effects on your baby. You should alert your doctor if you were on any supplements when you conceived and get medical approval for any supplements you take while pregnant or nursing.
